Change Request Statuses – Product Guide

The Change Request module in our Product Management tool includes additional statuses to reflect the relationship between Change Requests and RFIs (Request for Information). Here are the various statuses that a Change Request can have:

1. Draft:

  • When creating a new Change Request, it is initially in the draft status.
  • The Change Request is in progress and undergoing development or refinement.
  • It is not yet ready for submission or approval.

2. RFI Raised:

  • If an RFI related to the Change Request is raised but not yet closed, the Change Request enters the RFI raised status.
  • The decision on the Change Request cannot be made until the associated RFI is closed.
  • It indicates that there is an open RFI linked to the Change Request.

3. Approval Pending:

  • Once the associated RFI is closed, the status of the Change Request changes to approval pending.
  • The Change Request is now available for the designated Approvers to review and make a decision.
  • It signifies that the Change Request is awaiting approval or rejection from the Approvers.

4. Approved:

  • If the Approvers review and approve the Change Request, it is marked as approved.
  • The requested changes in the Change Request are accepted and authorized.
  • It indicates that the Change Request has been reviewed and approved by the relevant Approvers.

5. Rejected:

  • If the Approvers review the Change Request and determine that the requested changes are not feasible or suitable, it is marked as rejected.
  • The proposed changes in the Change Request are not approved, and alternative actions may be required.
  • It signifies that the Change Request has been reviewed and declined by the Approvers.

6. Unlocked:

  • In certain situations, an approved Change Request may need to be unlocked for editing.
  • The unlocked status allows authorized users to make modifications or updates to the approved Change Request.
  • It provides flexibility for further adjustments or amendments, as necessary.

7. Resubmitted – Approval Pending:

  • If a Change Request is modified or updated after it has been rejected or unlocked, it enters the resubmitted – approval pending status.
  • The modified Change Request is resubmitted for review and approval from the Approvers.
  • It indicates that the Change Request has been revised and is awaiting re-evaluation.

Monitoring the status of Change Requests helps track the progress and ensure timely review and approval of requested changes.
