Creating a Change Request

To effectively manage and communicate changes within your construction project, our product offers a user-friendly Change Request feature. Follow the steps below to create a Change Request using our tool:

1. Access the Change Request Module:

  • Open our product and navigate to the Change Request module.
  • Click on the “Create” button on the Change Request summary table, which serves as the landing page for creating a new Change Request.

2. Fill in the Required Fields:

  • Requested by: The name of the creator is shown by default. You can select another user if needed.
  • Assigned to: Choose the appropriate approver from the list.
  • Attach Existing CR (Optional): If needed, attach an existing Change Request (e.g., by the General Contractor) for reference.
  • Divisions: Select the division(s) where changes are being requested.
  • Due Date: Set the expected approval date.
  • Type of Reference (Optional): If applicable, select the reference type (e.g., RFI).
  • RFI Reference (Optional): If an RFI type is selected, choose the specific RFI for reference.
  • Subject: Add a clear, concise subject.
  • Description: Provide detailed context or reasoning for the change.

3. Enter Values and Impact:

  • The system will auto-populate relevant sub-divisions and tasks from the Schedule of Values (SOV) based on your selected divisions.
  • Add cost impact if applicable.
  • Modify the start and end dates if the change affects the timeline.
  • Add any out-of-scope divisions, sub-divisions, or tasks not part of the SOV. These will be clearly marked.

4. Buttons:

  • Cancel: Disregard the request and return to the previous screen.
  • Save as Draft: Save for future edits before final submission.
  • Continue: Proceed to the final summary screen.

5. Summary of Change Request:

  • After clicking “Continue”, a summary screen will appear.
  • You will be given two options:
    • Go Back: Return to edit the Change Request.
    • Submit: Assign the Change Request for approval.
